Effects Study of Activities of Daily Living and Cognitive Ability on Depression of the Elderly People

Abstract
Objective : This study was conducted to investigate the effects of activities of daily living and cognitive ability on depression in the elderly people.
Methods : For data analysis, SPSS 25.0 Ver. was used. Frequency analysis and multiple response analysis was performed for general characteristics, descriptive statistics for activities of daily living, cognitive ability and depression level, and it was carried out multiple linear regression analysis for the effects of activities of daily living and cognitive ability on depression.
Results : Activities of daily living were found to have a significant effect on the dependent variable, depression, but cognitive ability did not appear to have a statistically significant effect on depression. Activities of daily living (p<.001) were confirmed to have a significant impact on depression.
Conclusion : Using the results of this study as a basis, it is believed that it will be necessary to consider these influencing factors when providing services for the Activities of daily living of the elderly in the community in the future.
